Pharmacy Qualifications
What is the purpose of this qualification?
This qualification has been developed in collaboration with Skills for Health, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and the General Pharmaceutical Council to guide and assess the development of knowledge and skills relating to the health workforce in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. This qualification confirms competence in a range of skills undertaken by a pharmacy assistant, including:
- Assisting with the provision of pharmacy services
- Assisting with the sale of medicines and products
- Receiving prescriptions from individuals
- Ordering, receiving, maintaining and, assisting with the issue of, pharmaceutical stock
- Assembling and, assisting with the issuing of, prescribed items
- Assisting with the manufacture and assembly of medicinal products
- Assisting with the preparation of documentation, materials and other items for manufacture.
This qualification will form part of the requirements for Pharmacy Apprenticeship Framework.
Learners usually take this qualification alongside the EDEXCEL BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Pharmaceutical Science (QRN#500/9579/1).
This qualification has been developed to replace QRN#100/2614/9 EDEXCEL Level 2 NVQ in Pharmacy Services.
