Training Synergy is pleased to offer training and assessment courses leading to the new LPI/BCS certificate – Institute Certified Training Practitioner (ICTP) – jointly awarded from the Learning and Performance Institute and the British Computer Society.

Announced in late 2008, the Trainer Performance Monitoring & Assessment service (TPMA) now provides the industry with a single standard and assessment for all elements of the IT training industry, leading to a joint LPI/BCS certificate and provides a stepping stone to a Level 3/4 nationally recognised qualification on the Qualifications and Credit Framework.
The TPMA service is authorised, governed and monitored by the Learning and Performance Institute (LPI). The resultant certificate, jointly awarded by the LPI and the BCS, is a testament to the training professional’s quality of performance in a live environment aligned to national standards – a real quality benchmark of training that has a focus on successful learning. The service is not just restricted to IT trainers and can be tailored dependent on skills and experience.
Training Synergy has been awarded by the LPI the status of Authorised Qualification & Assessment Centre (AQAC). This means we can offer trainers several ways in which to demonstrate they meet the national standards provided by Trainer Performance Monitoring and Assessment (TPMA).
They can attend either a half-day, two day or four day event … at the end of which they deliver a 30 minute training session which will be assessed by one of our certified TPMA assessors. If successful, they will be awarded the new LPI/BCS certificate in Training Practice, also known as Institute Certified Training Practitioner certificate (ICTP).
What does this mean for you as a trainer?
For many large scale IT projects, in both public and private sectors, the certificate will become a mandatory requirement for UK trainers.

Upon being successfully assessed, you will join the top tier of UK trainers who have received certificate for achieving Competency Measures outlined in the new accredited qualification PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) consistently.
Your regular assessment is also the key to becoming a Professional member of the Learning and Performance Institute with the right to post nominal letters after your name (e.g. ALPI, SALPI).
Each course offers the opportunity to refresh your knowledge, learn from and share experience with your peers and get professional certified feedback on your training skills
You will receive an Assessor’s Report, outlining your individual Key Performance Indicators, which you can use to obtain the Institute Certified Training Practitioner certificate and then optionally work towards achieving the nationally recognised qualification, PTLLS. This accredited qualification, through the Qualifications and Credit Framework, is portable and will be yours to keep.
If you are a Freelance/Contract trainer, you may receive an Assessment from a nationwide network of LPI Authorised Assessment Centres and use the Assessor’s Report for evidence when applying for 3rd party projects.
You will also receive, as part of your Assessor’s Report, Key Development Indicators which will outline areas that you may need to develop – and this can be used in your organisation’s Appraisal Process
What does this mean for you as a client?
Training Synergy prides itself on the quality of training resource and services provided to its clients. We are delighted that we can now provide the added assurance of fully accredited training resource through one de-facto standard and provide the opportunity to achieve a nationally recognised qualification on the Qualifications and Credit Framework.
